Is ProDentim safe for children?
Ask your child's pediatrician or dentist first. ProDentim is sold as a human adult supplement, and no children's study of the tablet exists.
There is research on probiotics in children, but it uses other strains and forms. One trial of 40 preschoolers used S. salivarius M18 lozenges for seven days and saw lower S. mutans counts than placebo (S. salivarius M18 lozenges, kids 2023). That strain is not in ProDentim, and the result is a bacteria count, not fewer cavities.
For infants, the FDA has warned that products with live bacteria or yeast can cause serious illness in preterm babies (FDA 2023, probiotics in preterm infants). That is about babies in hospital, not about a school-age child, but it shows why age matters.
The tablet is a soft tablet that is chewed, so a young child could also choke or swallow it whole. Keep any supplement out of reach, as a medicine would be. Children's decay prevention is about fluoride and diet (CDC, Statement on Water Fluoridation) (ADA MouthHealthy, Sugary Drinks).

Gums often change in pregnancy. NIDCR-linked material lists pregnancy among the risk factors for gingivitis (MedlinePlus, Gingivitis). That makes dental checks more important, not a supplement.
One small trial gave L. reuteri lozenges to 45 pregnant women with gum inflammation and saw lower gum scores (Schlagenhauf 2016, L. reuteri lozenges). The lozenge strain pair is not the one named on the ProDentim page, so the result cannot be carried over.
